Historically, the Church has led the culture, often through excellent use of the arts - stirring musical pieces, beautiful paintings, plays, and other art communicated what people were feeling and brought the focus back to Almighty God and His truths. The current situation was viewed in the light of the Gospel.
Today, however, it seems culture is leading us. The Church is in a position of reacting to what the culture is doing, believing that we must illuminate the Gospel in the light of the current situation, rather than the other way around.
It is time for the arts to come alive again! Christian artists should be making the most artistic, thought provoking, and excellent art, because we are the ones who have intimate knowledge of the Creator. We should be leading the culture towards Christ and His truths once again. This is our commitment at Arts Alive, to artistically present the gospel and to train others to lead and communicate His truths in every field and discipline, connecting people to Christ.
