Take My Hand and Walk with Me
Samuel White
Samuel White
We think completely differently,
we don’t see eye-to-eye, No human mind would ever make a team of you and I. Our skins are diff’rent colors, and we sing a diff’rent song Ev’ry second we’re together seems interminably long. You may never like me, but with eyes on what’s above, We can bear each other’s burdens with a brother’s faithful love. So take my hand, and walk with me through a valley filled with shadows in a night of storm. Take my hand and walk with me; we set aside our diff’rences to serve the Lord. I think that all your hopes and dreams are totally insane. I want anonymity, but you desire fame. I can’t abide the way you think the country should be run. We even take two diff’rent ways to see the same thing done. The world I see is black and white; yours is shades of grey. But to both of us, the Perfect King, is one Man and the same. So take my hand and walk with me through a valley filled with shadows in a night of storm. Take my hand and walk with me; we can’t hate one another when we love the Lord. |
We have diff’rent codes of honor,
but we all know right from wrong. We despise each others’ weaknesses, yet together we are strong. The world is filled with strife and woe to tear good friends apart, But the Church is filled with bonds of love, that give enemies one heart. Our fam’lies hate each other; our countries are at war; But there’s a bigger victory that we are fighting for. So take my hand and walk with me through a valley filled with shadows in a night of storm. Take my hand and walk with me; we’re livin’ in a world that’s part of heaven’s war. So take my hand and walk with me through a valley filled with shadows in a night of storm. Take my hand and walk with me; partners in the Kingdom God will soon restore. |
